Vintage Sampson and Sons Covered Vegetable Serving Dish with Lid Flow Blue Chantilly Bird Pattern
A lovely covered casserole or vegetable dish made in Stoke on Trent, England, by the Sampson and Sons Company in the 1920s. This "Chantilly" pattern, features a blue crisscross border pattern around the sides and edge of the lid with a bird and flowers on the lid. Gold gilt trim around the edge of the lid, the lid pinecone shaped handle, the edges of the bowl and the bowl handles. Bowl measures 8 3/8" in diameter without the handles and the overall height is 5 1/2". This pattern was registered in the 1920's and the blue back stamp was used between 1912 - 1937. There is one small pattern area on the side of the bowl that is a little worn. Great for entertaining!
